About the position

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Boom Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating boom trucks and cranes on construction sites, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate boom trucks and cranes to lift, move, and position materials on construction sites.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to coordinate lifting operations effectively.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating heavy equipment.
• Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading materials.
• Maintain accurate records of materials handled and equipment usage.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment as needed to ensure optimal performance.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues with equipment during operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating boom trucks, cranes, or similar heavy equipment is preferred.
• Familiarity with rigging techniques and materials handling practices.
• Experience in warehouse operations or construction site environments is a plus.
• Valid forklift certification is advantageous.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with basic maintenance tasks.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining focus on safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors effectively.
• Must be able to pass any required background checks or certifications related to heavy equipment operation.
