As a Boom Truck Operator at Capitol Building Supply, Inc., your primary responsibility will be to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle, specifically a boom truck, in compliance with company policies as well as Federal and State regulations. You will be tasked with delivering freight undamaged to various job sites, which may include both commercial and residential locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, as you will be responsible for loading and unloading heavy building materials, ensuring that all deliveries are made in a timely and professional manner. You will also be expected to maintain accurate records as required for compliance with State and Federal regulations, and report any accidents involving the driver or company equipment. Your ability to provide excellent customer service will be crucial, as you will interact with customers during deliveries and must maintain a professional attitude at all times. In addition to driving, you will be required to inspect the truck and trailer for defects to ensure safe operation. This includes checking for any mechanical issues before starting your deliveries. You will need to demonstrate stamina and physical strength, as the job involves lifting heavy materials, sometimes exceeding 100 lbs, and moving them frequently during the unloading process.
