About the position
The BOSS Fulfillment Outfitter position at Cabela's is a part-time role focused on enhancing the shopping experience for customers through the BOSS (Buy Online Ship from Store) process. This position is essential in ensuring that orders are filled accurately and efficiently, utilizing inventory from various retail locations. The Fulfillment Outfitter will be responsible for a range of tasks including sorting, picking, packing, and loading merchandise for shipment to both direct customers and retail stores. The role requires a strong familiarity with the products sold at Cabela's, as well as a commitment to maintaining the quality and presentation of merchandise for customers. In this role, the Fulfillment Outfitter will perform multiple functions within the back room of the retail store. This includes receiving and inspecting merchandise, filling orders, and ensuring that products are packed appropriately for shipment. The position may require spending significant time in specific areas of the store, but the outfitter should be knowledgeable enough to move between different functions as needed. Responsibilities also include applying labels, visually inspecting products, and pulling merchandise from designated stock locations. The outfitter will utilize authorized material handling equipment to move merchandise and will be expected to maintain a clean and safe work environment. Additionally, the Fulfillment Outfitter will assist customers on the sales floor, helping them find merchandise and make informed buying decisions. Effective communication is crucial, as the outfitter must report any issues affecting order fulfillment, such as stock shortages or discrepancies in inventory counts. This position requires attendance at mandatory training sessions, including safety and job skills training, to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Fill BOSS orders by sorting, picking, packing, and loading merchandise for shipment.
- Inspect merchandise for quality and presentation before packing.
- Sort merchandise into order groupings and pack using appropriate containers.
- Apply designated labels to products and ensure proper handling to maintain quality.
- Pull merchandise from designated stock locations and place in proper containers for shipment.
- Move merchandise among warehouse locations using authorized material handling equipment or manually load/unload trailers.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work environment.
- Assist customers in finding merchandise and making buying decisions on the sales floor.
- Communicate any issues affecting order fulfillment, such as stock shortages or discrepancies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Entry-level position with 0-2 years of experience in order fulfillment or related field.
- Ability to follow through on order processing and close orders in the BOSS system.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, co-workers, and customers.
- Ability to read label descriptions and stock merchandise by UPC codes.
