About the position

The Peripheral Vascular Consultant position at Boston Scientific is designed for individuals with a strong clinical aptitude who thrive in a collaborative team environment. This role is pivotal in developing new accounts and expanding the usage of company products within existing accounts to meet sales quotas aligned with company goals aimed at increasing revenue. The consultant will be responsible for selling and promoting a range of innovative medical products within a defined geographical territory, contributing to the company's mission of revolutionizing vascular care. Boston Scientific is committed to addressing the clinical and systemic challenges faced by physicians and patients daily. The company’s market-leading products are utilized to diagnose and treat various medical conditions affecting the arterial and venous systems, including peripheral artery disease, chronic limb-threatening ischemia, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, post-thrombotic syndrome, and compressive diseases. The Peripheral Interventions team is seeking high-energy, driven, and passionate individuals who are not merely looking for a job but are eager to build a career in this dynamic field. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a robust product pipeline that includes drug-eluting stents, drug-coated balloons, IVUS, peripheral guide wires, stents, balloons, thrombectomy, and atherectomy solutions. You will be expected to develop and implement effective sales strategies, analyze sales figures, and establish strong relationships with hospital personnel to facilitate future sales. The position requires a proactive approach to understanding customer needs and providing tailored solutions, ensuring that Boston Scientific continues to lead in the vascular care market.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule sales calls to meet with current and potential customers to fulfill revenue and unit growth objectives assigned by the company.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies by analyzing relevant factors such as product, competition, and pricing needs of existing and potential accounts.
  • Create action plans by analyzing quarterly and monthly sales figures and reports to identify the needs of particular accounts.
  • Meet with physicians and hospital personnel to determine their needs and how Boston Scientific products can address them.
  • Observe procedures in the lab and operating room to gain insights into the specific nuances of each physician and lab staff member.
  • Establish pricing packages that meet customer needs while adhering to company guidelines.
  • Respond to customer needs and complaints by developing creative solutions or collaborating with other personnel.
  • Develop relationships with hospital personnel to identify key purchasing decision-makers and facilitate future sales.
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products through presentations and demonstrations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent combination of sales and education experience.
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in medical device sales.
  • Strong clinical, analytical, and selling skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a large number of accounts.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to be coached and directed by teammates.
