About the position

The Box Office Manager at Jazz St. Louis is responsible for overseeing all ticketing operations and customer interactions. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will manage ticket sales, establish ticketing policies, and supervise box office staff while ensuring a smooth operation in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all Box Office Operations
  • Administer the Box Office email account
  • Oversee all ticket sales for all upcoming events
  • Establish and implement ticketing policies
  • Create discount/promo codes for ticket sales
  • Assist donors, sponsors, and VIPs with accommodations
  • Process seating for subscription packages
  • Process and mail renewal packets for subscribers
  • Balance and reconcile all ticket sales for events
  • Generate reports regarding sales and patron lists
  • Facilitate ticketing for rental and private events
  • Collaborate with event promoters on ticket pricing
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise box office staff
  • Train employees in Tessitura processes
  • Maintain schedule for part-time staff
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Development Directors
  • Proof season brochure and order form
  • Build shows in Tessitura for ticket sales
  • Maintain customer and patron database files
  • Process ticket donations and mail acknowledgment letters
  • Generate Tessitura login credentials for employees
  • Supervise Thursday Morning Coffee Concerts
  • Liaison with Restaurant Manager for patron needs
  • Represent JSL to the public with superior customer service
  • Monitor ticketing computers, software, and hardware
  • Ensure compliance with cash handling policies
  • Coordinate with security for public safety
  • Participate in on-site production meetings
  • Assist with venue management and compliance
  • Perform Box Office Associate and Floor Manager duties as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Marketing

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 Years in Box Office or Ticketing Management
  • Knowledge of computerized ticket systems and reporting
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and auditing controls
  • Skill in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Skill in customer service and communication
  • Skill in supervision
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
  • Ability to evaluate and improve operations
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends
