About the position

The Kew-Forest School is seeking a Boys' Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach for the upcoming winter season. This full-time position involves assisting with basketball practices and games, guiding student-athletes in proper techniques and strategies, and ensuring effective communication with the team and parents. The role is integral to fostering a supportive and educational environment for student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basketball practices a minimum of 5 times per week, for a maximum of 2 hours each session.
• Teach and guide student-athletes in proper basketball techniques and strategies.
• Keep attendance and communicate with the team, parents, and Athletic Director regarding any changes or cancellations of practices and games.
• Attend team events and outings, such as Jaguars Night Out.
• Complete required courses upon hire, including CPR and mandated reporter training.

Requirements

• Experience with children
• Behavior management skills
• Fluency in English
• Basic knowledge of Spanish (preferred)
• Entry-level coaching experience
