About the position

Eliot is excited to announce a unique opportunity to join a newly formed team dedicated to providing innovative services for individuals with brain injuries. Our programs are designed to be person-centered, focusing on the individual needs of each adult we serve, with the goal of enriching and enhancing their lives. We offer a comprehensive array of restorative skill-building activities and support tailored specifically for adults with Acquired Brain Injuries. The Adult Day Services Program and Adult Residential Programs at Eliot provide a full spectrum of services aimed at rebuilding essential skills such as communication proficiency, social and behavioral skills, self-help abilities, and the management of daily life activities. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with a variety of medical, physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional needs, helping them to complete daily activities and engage in enriching experiences that promote skill building and independence. This position requires a commitment to being alert and responsive to the needs of individuals, providing support and training as outlined in their Individual Support Plans (I.S.P.). You will also be responsible for administering medication in accordance with MAP regulations, performing necessary housekeeping tasks, and reporting any maintenance or safety issues to your supervisor. Participation in meetings and training sessions is essential to ensure the highest quality of care and support for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Be alert and responsive to the needs of individuals if required
  • Provide support and training in the areas identified within the I.S.P. to promote personal growth and accomplishment, which may include assistance with personal care and hygiene
  • Administer medication according to MAP regulations
  • Perform housekeeping tasks as necessary
  • Report all maintenance and safety issues to supervisor
  • Report significant health, psychiatric and behavioral issues to Program Manager
  • Attend and participate in meetings and trainings
  • Support individuals with a variety of medical, physical, cognitive, and socio-emotional needs in completing daily activities including but not limited to ADLs, laundry, meal preparation, cleaning, leisure activity, etc.
  • Actively engage individuals in enriching activities that promote skill building and independence

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • MA Driver's License
  • Experience with this population (6 months)

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification
  • Intermediate computer software skills
  • Advanced communication skills
