About the position

The Branch Development Manager at Circle Logistics is a pivotal role focused on establishing and leading a new branch location. This position requires a customer-centric individual who will actively engage in moving loads, developing business, and growing a client base. The role offers a pathway to transition into a Branch Manager position, where responsibilities will expand to include driving business development, enhancing customer satisfaction, and managing a high-performing team to scale revenue and profit margins.

Responsibilities

  • Find and target new customers to grow the branch's customer list.
  • Create and execute plans to improve services to meet customer and carrier needs.
  • Build and nurture lasting relationships with important customers and partners.
  • Use industry knowledge and market trends to boost sales and increase revenue.
  • Form and develop operations teams to support both new and existing clients as the business expands.
  • Ensure efficient operations that align with company standards and client expectations.
  • Implement best practices in logistics operations to improve processes and productivity.
  • Manage and mentor the workforce to create a positive and productive work environment.
  • Drive financial performance by increasing gross profit margins and revenue.
  • Monitor financial metrics and KPIs, making necessary adjustments to meet targets.
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Leverage an extensive carrier network to ensure capacity and competitive pricing.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with carriers, negotiating rates and terms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of current experience in freight brokerage, including moving loads, or a solid track record in business development and revenue growth.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple clients and teams.
  • Leadership experience in scaling and managing a workforce.
  • Extensive carrier network and strong relationship-building abilities.
  • Great communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
