About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Branch Network Management Trainee (SAFE) for National Branch Network as part of the Consumer, Small and Business Banking division. This is an interim non-exempt position until the trainee has received certification of program completion and been placed into a branch. Successful completion of the Branch Manager Readiness program is a pre-requisite to transition into a non-exempt Associate Branch Manager (ABM) or exempt Branch Manager (BM) role. Employees who are not currently in an ABM or BM role at the time of hire will participate in the Branch Manager Readiness program. Our Branch Managers are responsible for leading, managing and developing a diverse team of direct and indirect reports, creating a culture that fosters engagement and generates commitment and accountability to business outcomes. Successful Branch Managers are able to lead a highly defined customer engagement process, coaching to specific behaviors that lead to an enhanced customer experience and drive growth in the business, while also driving accountability for operational excellence. This involves executing policies and procedures in alignment with applicable regulations, as well as audit and escalation procedures, and managing the allocation of people and financial resources for the branch.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, develop and build a high performing team to execute on business strategies, achieve results, and drive growth of the business.
  • Resolve low to moderately complex issues regarding the customer and employee experience, risk, and growth of the team and the business.
  • Identify opportunities for making banking easier for customers through education and demonstration of available digital options.
  • Lead the branch while engaging stakeholders, peers, and internal partners in collaborating and building strong partnerships.
  • Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of banking, financial services, or Branch Network experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience.

  • Ability to analyze performance, understand strengths and opportunities, and execute a plan that empowers employees to achieve business objectives.
  • Experience and knowledge in coaching across customer segments, including affluent, high net worth, and small business.
  • Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with customers, internal partners and within the community.
  • Extensive experience in asking questions and identifying complex financial needs in order to provide relevant options to customers.
  • Ability to lead a team to influence, educate, and connect customers to technology and share the value of digital banking.
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking industry laws and regulations, compliance controls, risk management and loss prevention.
  • Ability to interact with integrity and professionalism with customers and employees.
  • Relevant military experience including working with military protocol and instructions.
