About the position

The Branch Manager I is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a full-service branch office, ensuring efficient administration in areas such as operations, lending, product sales, and customer service. This role involves developing new business opportunities, providing exceptional customer relations, and promoting a sales and service culture through effective coaching and staff motivation. The Branch Manager also participates in community affairs to enhance the bank's visibility and business opportunities while achieving branch sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Build and promote branch identity, drive sales, and improve customer service and branch success.
  • Implement and administer new products or programs, including sales promotion and incentive programs.
  • Originate residential mortgage applications.
  • Make recommendations on recruiting, hiring, assigning jobs, promotions, performance appraisals, salary decisions, counseling, disciplines, and terminations.
  • Provide training in bank policies and procedures and conduct regular staff meetings.
  • Maintain prescribed security controls to protect against criminal and fraudulent activity.
  • Maintain communications between the branch and management through regular reporting and attending staff meetings.
  • Know all features and benefits of the bank's products, programs, and services.
  • Supervise Assistant Manager, Head Teller, and Tellers.
  • Provide quality customer service through personal contact with customers and prospects.
  • Handle customer issues in person or over the phone by assisting in researching and solving the issue.
  • Review and approve requests including cashing large checks and authorizing bank checks or general ledger tickets.
  • Work to meet existing branch performance standards in various operational areas.
  • Continue to build proficiency in banking principles and sales techniques through training and education.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education or experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Well organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work well in small groups.
