About the position

The Branch Manager in Training (BMIT) position at Advance America is a performance-based, hands-on, customer-focused role designed for individuals who are eager to develop their careers in financial services. This role is pivotal in delivering results related to both individual and branch sales goals while ensuring customer satisfaction. The BMIT will engage in various responsibilities that comply with federal and state regulations, as well as adhere to company policies and procedures. This position is not only about meeting performance metrics but also about fostering a positive customer experience and driving new customer growth through effective sales and marketing strategies. In this role, the BMIT will actively assist in achieving the branch's performance metrics as defined by management. This includes utilizing sales tools to enhance customer experiences and employing marketing techniques to attract new customers to both storefront and online channels. The BMIT will be responsible for the day-to-day servicing of a growing consumer loan portfolio, presenting tailored financial solutions based on customer needs, and educating customers about their loan terms to ensure clarity and understanding. Building trust with customers and internal staff is essential, as is embodying the core values and purpose of the organization. Additionally, the BMIT will assist in managing the branch's profit and loss (P&L) to meet budget expectations and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This includes maintaining accurate cash controls, entering customer information into the point of sales system, and performing collection activities as needed. The BMIT will work closely with the Branch Sales Manager and Divisional Director of Operations, supporting a positive team environment and enhancing the overall customer experience. This position is intended to serve as a developmental role, with the goal of promotion to a Branch Sales Manager position in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Actively assist in meeting the Branch's performance metrics as defined by management.
  • Utilize sales tools to provide an exceptional customer experience and employ sales and marketing techniques to drive customer growth.
  • Manage day-to-day servicing of a growing consumer loan portfolio.
  • Present financial solutions based on customer needs and educate them on loan terms.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers throughout the loan process.
  • Deploy marketing efforts in the community to generate sales and track marketing effectiveness.
  • Assist in managing the branch's P&L to meet budgeted numbers and expectations.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and all applicable regulations.
  • Maintain accurate cash controls and ensure compliance with security procedures.
  • Perform collection calls and document collection activities as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
  • Sales and/or customer service experience required, or equivalent experience.
  • One year of experience in sales, retail, banking, or collections preferred.
  • Strong math skills, including the ability to count cash.
  • Professional verbal communication skills, both by phone and in person.
  • Ability to read, write, evaluate, and apply complex information.
  • Ability to negotiate payment terms and communicate loan requirements effectively.
  • Ability to understand and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
