About the position

The Branch Manager at Amegy Bank is responsible for leading the retail banking operations at the Memorial City Banking Center in Houston, TX. This role involves overseeing all aspects of branch management, including sales, customer service, operations, and team leadership, while ensuring compliance with banking regulations. The ideal candidate will drive business development and foster a diverse and inclusive team culture to support the financial goals of clients and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall performance and operations of the banking center, including loans, deposits, and service quality.
  • Act as the primary business development officer, responsible for expanding existing business relationships and developing new ones.
  • Provide sales leadership for the banking center, overseeing inside and outside sales efforts of employees.
  • Direct banking center activities, ensuring compliance with operational and credit risk management regulations.
  • Extend credit to businesses and individuals through various loan types.
  • Oversee community development and relations.
  • Process cash transactions and perform customer service and sales duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retail banking and operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Network presence in surrounding areas preferred.
  • Business banking or lending experience is a plus.
  • Ability to achieve sales targets and drive business growth in a retail banking environment.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills to inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
  • Sound judgement and decision-making abilities with a focus on integrity and compliance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and banking software.
