About the position

The Branch Manager is responsible for organizing and leading the operations team at the branch, ensuring the successful execution of residential solar projects. This role involves managing a team of installers and field personnel, overseeing project scheduling, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The Branch Manager will also work closely with other management roles to drive performance metrics and improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operations and administrative tasks for the designated branch location.
  • Plan and coordinate installations of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems to ensure conformance to codes and company standards.
  • Manage, motivate, and mentor personnel involved in the installation and inspection of solar projects.
  • Evaluate and manage resources and processes for successful completion of solar projects.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, customer service, and productivity throughout branch operations.
  • Ensure proper safety training and equipment for all branch team members.
  • Remotely assess potential solar installation sites for feasibility and design requirements.
  • Oversee scheduling of building inspections for solar installation projects.
  • Monitor subcontractor work to ensure compliance with specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Provide technical assistance to installers and technicians in solar systems and related areas.
  • Prepare project proposals, quotes, budgets, and schedules for solar installations.
  • Estimate materials, equipment, and personnel needed for projects.
  • Identify means to reduce costs and increase efficiency of solar projects.
  • Assure quality of work produced meets company standards and specifications.
  • Work closely with regional and operational management to provide installation forecasts and performance reporting.
  • Deliver excellent customer experience and escalate concerns as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Good computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM and ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills for vendor and supplier relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills and decision-making capabilities without constant supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret job orders and specifications.
  • Wide range of carpentry skills for accurate remote job assessment.
  • Knowledge of materials and processes related to solar products.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
