About the position

The Branch Operations Manager oversees the operations of a full-service Credit Union branch, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while providing leadership and direction to staff. This role involves managing member relations, developing departmental goals, and participating in strategic planning and budgeting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation of the full-service Credit Union branch.
  • Participate in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of policies affecting branch operations.
  • Provide leadership and direction to branch staff.
  • Coordinate activities to ensure the achievement of Credit Union goals.
  • Guarantee equitable treatment and development of employees.
  • Manage and maintain positive member relations.
  • Develop annual department goals and participate in future planning and budgeting.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and support to managers for operational questions and concerns.
  • Partner with Executives and Managers on product development and service enhancements.
  • Lead operational initiatives and projects to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Act as the BSA Officer, responsible for implementing BSA/AML policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Facilitate compliance training and administer internal audit protocols.
  • Conduct investigations of potential fraud and manage fraud cases.
  • Maintain day-to-day operations of the branch and call center staff.
  • Provide guidance to branch personnel to achieve branch and Credit Union goals.
  • Ensure staff are properly trained and monitor job performance.
  • Train sales skills and promote a member needs-based sales environment.
  • Participate in hiring, scheduling, and disciplinary actions for staff.
  • Handle member complaints and resolve pending problems.
  • Complete annual employee reviews.
  • Work with management to maintain proper staffing levels.
  • Participate in the Asset/Liability Committee.
  • Handle staff discipline issues and interface with union representatives.
  • Guarantee security procedures are met in the branch.
  • Set and track department goals with team members.
  • Prepare annual goals and department budget.
  • Maintain knowledge and procedural expertise in Credit Union functions.
  • Provide a positive role model of member service.
  • Hold regular staff, regulatory, and sales meetings.
  • Maintain and update policy and procedure manuals.
  • Prepare for and attend monthly board meetings if requested.
  • Assist management with special projects as needed.
  • Participate in member events to represent the Credit Union.
  • Maintain records on staff training sessions and meetings.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of similar or related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent formal certifications recognized in the industry.
  • Certified Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist designation (highly preferred).
  • Ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union Law and Regulations.
  • Demonstrated sound business practices.
  • Knowledge of electronic banking equipment and transfer technology.
  • Ability to coach and train staff and managers.
  • Solid knowledge of financial concepts, products, and services.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
