About the position

The Branch Operations Manager at Lansing Building Products is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the branch, ensuring profitability, and enhancing customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, and implementing operational improvements while adhering to the company's mission of respect, service, and excellence.

Responsibilities

• Live the mission statement centered on respect, service, and excellence.
• Assist the branch manager with day-to-day operations and P&L management.
• Supervise the inside sales staff and warehouse manager.
• Act as the primary leader for customer service opportunities and issues.
• Identify and implement improvements in branch operations and sales.
• Monitor all branch operations, including warehouse processes, inventory, payroll, and daily reports.
• Collaborate with the warehouse manager and associates.
• Utilize the company's inventory management network across branches.
• Manage branch staffing and ensure operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Experienced manager and supervisor with the ability to motivate subordinates.
• High integrity and energy in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with building products as a salesperson or in senior warehouse roles.
• Ability to meet and exceed personal goals.
• Strong interest in sales and/or retail, supported by previous jobs or education.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for customer interactions and issue resolution.
• Strong computer knowledge and exceptional telephone etiquette.
• Competitiveness and a willingness to go the extra mile.
• Strong communication and social skills.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 70 pounds) occasionally.
