About the position

Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. is seeking a Branch Operations Specialist to join their branch office in Jenkintown, New Jersey. This position is integral to the daily operations of the branch, requiring a candidate who possesses superior interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and the capacity to multitask effectively. The Branch Operations Specialist will work under the guidance of the Operations Manager and will be expected to operate both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. The role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence and supporting various functions within the branch. The Branch Operations Specialist will assist in maintaining the day-to-day operations of the branch, which includes supporting the client onboarding process, maintaining and processing essential documents, and preparing for audits. Effective communication with home office personnel and branch staff at all levels of management is crucial. The Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring that all documents are sent to the home office in a timely manner and will engage in cross-training within other positions in the Operations area. The role may require the candidate to take on additional tasks as needed and assist Branch Control Officers with the syndicate process, making adaptability and a willingness to learn essential traits for success in this position.

Requirements

  • FINRA Registration: Series 99 or 7 and 63 required (Within 6 months of hire)
  • 2+ years of experience in financial services
  • Brokerage operations experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools to find information
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
