About the position

The Branch Operations Lead at Advance Auto Parts plays a crucial role in assisting Branch Operations Management with the daily operations of the warehouse. This position is primarily focused on supervising warehouse associates and ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently. The Branch Operations Lead is expected to spend approximately seventy percent of their time directly supervising a team of five or more associates, guiding them in their daily tasks and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This role also involves participating in the training of teammates, enabling them to apply their learning immediately to their work, and keeping up to date with all required training programs. In addition to supervisory duties, the Branch Operations Lead collaborates closely with the Assistant Manager and/or Manager to coordinate warehouse activities effectively. This includes learning all aspects of Branch Management, such as operations, staffing, training, and expense management. The Lead is responsible for maintaining the daily workflow for delivery orders and assisting associates during peak business hours, ensuring that replenishment orders and returned merchandise are processed according to company standards. Safety is a top priority, and the Lead participates in planning safety training and activities, ensuring that all safety procedures are followed and making recommendations for improvements. The Branch Operations Lead also plays a vital role in maintaining a customer service-oriented environment, ensuring that all operations procedures are adhered to, including the verification of incoming and outgoing shipments and the management of warehouse inventory. They are expected to report any violations of policies or safety concerns to management and to maintain a proactive approach to the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment, ensuring that necessary repairs are communicated and executed promptly. Additionally, the Lead will use a company vehicle to deliver products and equipment to customers, emphasizing safety and courtesy in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise five or more associates in warehouse and delivery operations.

Requirements

  • Previous warehouse experience, including leading or planning the work of other teammates.
  • Must meet all applicable state-specific driver's license requirements.
  • Demonstrated self-starter and motivated individual willing to learn new skills.
  • Strong organizational, supervisory, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operational policies.
  • Ability to solve practical problems in varied situations.
