About the position

Carrier Enterprise, a leading national distributor of residential and light commercial HVAC products, is seeking a dedicated Branch Sales Associate for our Albany, NY location. Join a team that excels in providing top-notch HVAC/R products, parts, and supplies through licensed HVAC/R dealers and contractors. In the Branch Sales Associate role, you will be the face of our branch, providing exceptional customer service, product knowledge, and support to HVAC/R professionals and contractors who visit our location. Your enthusiasm for the industry, excellent communication skills, and commitment to delivering top-notch customer service will be the key to your success. This position is eligible for performance-based bonuses and incentives.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding the right HVAC/R products and supplies for their needs.
  • Accurately process customer orders, ensuring that all requested items are available, properly priced, and invoiced correctly.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of our HVAC/R product inventory, including specifications, compatibility, and pricing.
  • Monitor and replenish stock levels on the sales floor. Conduct regular inventory counts and report any discrepancies to the store manager.
  • Assist customers in troubleshooting and finding solutions to technical issues related to HVAC/R equipment and components.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized counter area. Ensure a safe working environment for both customers and colleagues.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation for customer transactions, including invoices, returns, and warranty claims.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in HVAC/R or a related industry.
  • Knowledge of HVAC/R products, equipment, and components preferred but not required.
  • Excellent customer service skills, including active listening and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using computerized sales and inventory management systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of merchandise.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to access products and supplies.
