About the position

The Branch Coordinator at Owens & Minor plays a crucial role in enhancing the lives of patients and their caregivers by providing exceptional customer service. This position involves direct interaction with patients, ensuring timely and accurate processing of orders, and collaborating with various stakeholders to facilitate healthcare services. The Branch Coordinator is responsible for obtaining necessary documentation for billing and ensuring that patients receive the care they need efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for patients arriving in person.
• Answer inbound calls from customers on a multi-line phone system, providing information and troubleshooting issues.
• Process new orders and review multiple systems to assist customers.
• Confirm delivery appointments and verify insurance information.
• Obtain authorization of equipment based on payor guidelines.
• Monitor incoming faxes and perform data entry tasks.
• Work with sales teams and referrals to gather necessary documentation for insurance compliance.
• Request health plan authorizations as required, either electronically or verbally.
• Review new and recurring patient accounts to ensure all documentation is collected for billing.
• Collect credit card payments and reconcile daily receivables.
• Perform outbound customer satisfaction calls to patients and referrals.
• Conduct downloads of recording devices and perform functional tests on respiratory equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of related work experience required.
• Preferred two years of experience in an office environment, healthcare setting, or call center.
• Experience utilizing a multi-line phone system preferred.
