About the position

The position supports the Business Development Manager (BDM) in achieving sales goals for the Texas Market by driving brand and category awareness, making strategic plans, and executing initiatives across on and off-premise channels. The role focuses on building the brand through education, opening new accounts, and enhancing visibility for El Dorado and Diamond Reserve rums in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Support distributor relationship building with on-premise accounts to secure increased visibility and menu features.
  • Assist the sales team in gaining listings and programs by providing rum and brand expertise for both on-premise and off-premise.
  • Collaborate with the Spirits team to identify partnership opportunities and develop programs for the brand portfolio.
  • Partner with the BDM to drive awareness among distributor teams for El Dorado and Diamond Reserve, assisting with market activity planning and recapping.
  • Provide formal and informal rum education and training for the distributor sales team, trade, and consumers.
  • Promote and educate the distributor sales team about products using superior brand and category knowledge.
  • Partner with the brand team to develop marketing collateral as requested.
  • Support the BDM at consumer events and attend key trade events and customer activations to ensure alignment with strategy.
  • Lead and own on-premise placement strategy, program development, and in-market amplification for brand and trade-sponsored events.
  • Provide weekly activity reports and monthly market intelligence reports to the BDM, highlighting best practices and ideas for brand leverage.
  • Manage expenses to budget allocation for support and events.

Requirements

  • Preferred experience in the food and beverage industry, specifically on-premise work for 2-4 years.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently about brand education in front of small to large-sized groups.
  • Comfortable discussing pricing and promotional offers.
