About the position

The Brand Ambassador is responsible for generating sales by providing customers with an exceptional shopping experience. This role acts as the face and voice of American Eagle Outfitters, building brand recognition and promoting products through meaningful customer engagement. The Brand Ambassador is expected to embody AEO values and Customer First behaviors to create a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate AEO Customer First selling standards to deliver a positive customer experience and achieve sales goals.
  • Drive brand loyalty by being knowledgeable about AEO loyalty programs and informing customers.
  • Leverage company tools to provide product knowledge and enhance customer engagement.
  • Support fellow employees by sharing knowledge and assisting in customer interactions.
  • Suggest key looks and incorporate trends based on individual customer styles.
  • Promote AEO and aerie brands by introducing customers to additional brand channels.
  • Perform register sales transactions accurately and quickly according to cash control procedures.
  • Restock return merchandise and label damaged items appropriately.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized sales floor and stockroom.
  • Handle merchandise efficiently from shipment processing to markdown optimization.
  • Resolve customer concerns in line with company policy and ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Previous retail experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with customers and team members.
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to receive feedback and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to stand and move about for extended periods with short breaks.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with technology.
  • Must be able to lift between 15 and 50 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in customer service for at least 1 year.
  • Valid Driver's License preferred.
