About the position

The Curio Wellness Brand Ambassador is a pivotal role responsible for representing Maryland's leading cannabis brand and contributing to the company's annual market share growth objectives. This position involves regular visits to dispensaries within the assigned territory to engage with dispensary agents, providing them with essential product information and serving as a reliable resource. The Brand Ambassador will collaborate closely with a dedicated Field Sales Representative to initiate, organize, and staff various events, including pop-ups, aimed at assisting dispensary partners in effectively selling the products available in their inventory. Together, they will devise strategies that align with brand objectives and enhance brand awareness throughout the Maryland market. In this role, the Brand Ambassador will actively engage with both dispensary agents and customers, educating them about Curio's mission, vision, and values, and emphasizing the importance of these elements in their cannabis product choices. A key responsibility includes ensuring that marketing and merchandising materials are delivered and installed correctly, thereby promoting the Curio Wellness brand and its family of brands effectively. The Brand Ambassador will also support the marketing team's initiatives to boost brand visibility at various engagements and events outside retail locations, such as community centers and industry events. Essential duties include hosting a minimum of eight pop-up events per month at dispensaries, understanding inventory positions, and organizing promotional activities to enhance product sell-through. Regular bi-weekly visits to each dispensary will involve delivering and refreshing marketing materials, monitoring compliance with marketing guidelines, and assisting with merchandising and digital marketing efforts. Building rapport with dispensary management and staff is crucial, as is soliciting feedback on products and identifying training opportunities for budtenders. The Brand Ambassador will also represent Curio Wellness at both cannabis and non-cannabis events, assist with large-scale sponsorship events, and maintain detailed records of dispensary visits and activities in the Field Sales & Marketing CRM system. Compliance with HR policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosure, is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Maryland's #1 cannabis brand and help achieve annual market share growth goals.
  • Visit dispensaries weekly to engage with dispensary agents and provide product information.
  • Initiate, organize, and staff events such as pop-ups to assist dispensary partners.
  • Develop plans that support brand objectives and increase brand awareness in the Maryland market.
  • Engage with dispensary agents and customers to educate them about Curio's mission and products.
  • Deliver and install marketing materials at dispensaries and refresh existing materials.
  • Monitor and correct the use of marketing materials in-store to meet guidelines.
  • Assist dispensary partners with merchandising and digital marketing assets.
  • Build rapport and trust with dispensary management and agents.
  • Solicit product feedback from dispensary agents and identify training opportunities for staff.
  • Schedule and staff a minimum of 8 pop-ups at dispensary locations each month.
  • Offer quarterly brand training to dispensary staff on Curio Wellness products.
  • Observe and communicate new products and market information to the Field Sales Representative.
  • Create content and manage a dedicated Instagram account for the Brand Ambassador team.
  • Represent Curio Wellness at cannabis and non-cannabis industry events and activations.
  • Assist with setup and staffing at large-scale sponsorship events.
  • Document dispensary visits and activities in the Field Sales & Marketing CRM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA, BS) or equivalent job-related experience.
  • 3+ years' experience in cannabis, pharmaceutical, or consumer product goods marketing.
  • Proven ability to build customer and consumer relationships to support brand awareness.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with field marketing software or customer relationship management software.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and innovative with the ability to work independently or in teams.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal vehicle and ability to drive to dispensaries and HQ for meetings.
  • Existing knowledge of the cannabis market preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
