About the position

The Brand & Creative Marketing Manager at The Downs Racetrack and Casino is a pivotal role responsible for the development and execution of innovative marketing campaigns that effectively promote the brand, products, and services of the casino. This position plays a crucial role in enhancing brand awareness, fostering customer engagement, and supporting the overall objectives of the company. The manager will ensure that the property maintains a unique brand identity across all marketing activities, both internal and external, and will be tasked with creating and managing special events aimed at attracting new customers to the property. In this role, the manager will develop and implement creative strategies that align with the overall marketing objectives, targeting specific audiences to maximize impact. Responsibilities include creating promotions, press releases, and social media campaigns to highlight new businesses and products. The manager will also oversee and optimize digital marketing campaigns, which encompass social media advertising, email marketing, print collateral, and other forms of advertisement, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across all creative elements. Staying abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies is essential for continually enhancing the effectiveness and innovation of marketing efforts. The manager will monitor project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure that all creative assets are delivered on time and within budget. Collaboration with team members to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven recommendations is also a key aspect of this role. Compliance with all departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations, is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure property presents and preserves unique brand identity for all external and internal marketing activities
  • Develop and implement creative strategies that align with the overall marketing objectives to appeal to targeted audiences
  • Create and manage special events to drive new customers to property
  • Create promotions, press releases, and social media campaigns to promote new businesses and/or products
  • Manage and optimize digital marketing campaigns, including social media advertising, email marketing, print collateral, press releases, and other advertisements
  • Ensure consistency and brand adherence across all marketing creative elements
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continually improve the effectiveness and innovation of marketing creative
  • Monitor and project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of creative assets
  • Collaborate with team members to evaluate the effectiveness of creative assets and campaigns and make data-driven recommendations
  • Comply with all department rules, regulations, policies, procedures and internal controls, and all local, state, and federal rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop
  • Previous casino specific software preferred
  • Knowledge of MS SQL
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment, including collaboration
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (orally and in writing)
  • Must be flexible and be able to work varied schedules to meet business needs
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain New Mexico Gaming Work Permit
  • Business degree with marketing emphasis preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years casino marketing experience preferred.
