About the position

The Brand and Marketing Lead is responsible for the production and coordination of visual branding, advertising, social, digital, and print media for Fiddleheads Food Co-Op. This role aims to promote the co-op and educate the public about its products, values, and community commitments through various media channels.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Management Team to develop a set of marketing strategies.
  • Execute the marketing strategies.
  • Attend all marketing and promotional meetings weekly and as needed.
  • Cultivate and maintain a positive consistent visual branding package for Fiddleheads.
  • Effectively translate ideas and concepts into clear, attractive and dynamic visual materials for online and print.
  • Understand, align with and market co-op values.
  • Design graphic pieces for marketing purposes (signage, event posters and flyers, coupons, brochures and other promotional pieces).
  • Handle requests for Co-op advertisements.
  • Design and maintain templates for in-store communications and retail signage.
  • Oversee production of other in-house materials (bag stuffers, educational brochures, etc.).
  • Support shelf-level promotions and demos.
  • Manage social media (Instagram, Facebook, Google Business, Yelp, etc.).
  • Oversee that website content stays current.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the co-op; cultivate good PR from media.
  • Serve as primary marketing point of contact.
  • Communicate key marketing and outreach initiatives to Staff.

Requirements

  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong, professional writing and editing skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Efficient Computer skills.
  • Ability to use editing and design software successfully.
  • Moderate proficiency in Word, Publisher, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge of whole, natural and organic foods.
  • Familiarity with cooperative principles.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion when handling confidential materials and matters.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer.
  • Able to lift 30+ pounds occasionally and carry bulky items over uneven surfaces.
  • Physical flexibility to stand, walk, squat, bend, balance and rotate body.

  • Fluent in Spanish
