About the position

23andMe is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Brand Marketing Manager to oversee brand marketing initiatives and manage various partnerships and marketing programs. This role is integral to the marketing team, reporting directly to the Sr. Manager II of Integrated Brand Marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of brand marketing initiatives, leveraging data, insights, and industry trends to inform strategies and tactics. The Brand Marketing Manager will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, ensuring that all marketing efforts align with the company's mission to help people access, understand, and benefit from the human genome. In this role, the Brand Marketing Manager will engage in detailed campaign management, which includes executing briefings, developing campaign strategies, and ensuring that creative deliverables meet established timelines and benchmarks. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining marketing materials and ensuring cohesive messaging across all channels. Additionally, the role involves managing relationships with agencies and brand partners, identifying new opportunities for optimization and innovation, and troubleshooting any campaign challenges that arise. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to managing multiple tasks. They will be expected to support additional strategic campaign needs as necessary and contribute to the overall success of the marketing team. This position requires a commitment to collaboration and a passion for working within a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of marketing initiatives, working collaboratively across teams including Media, Design, Comms, PR, Consumer Insights, Product, Legal, Medical, and Regulatory.
  • Detail-oriented campaign management, including execution of briefings, campaign strategy, creative strategy & deliverables, ensuring we are meeting execution timelines and benchmarks.
  • Updating and maintaining marketing materials, and working with the team to develop in-sync and cohesive messaging.
  • Work closely with and help manage agencies and other brand partners.
  • Identify new optimization, innovation, and strategic campaign opportunities, with a foundation in cultural/industry trends, data, and insights.
  • Routing and management of reviews and approvals through appropriate internal and external channels.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving campaign challenges and logistical issues with follow-ups that are timely and actionable.
  • Support additional strategic campaign needs as necessary.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of brand-side or agency experience.
  • Experience in product marketing a plus.
  • Strategic and execution expertise in campaign management across various verticals and team dynamics.
  • Effective time management and organization skills, attention to detail, and passionate commitment to meet campaign deadlines and goals.
  • A can-do and self-starting attitude with strong communication skills and an ability to successfully multitask.
  • Flexibility and comfortability working in a fast, high-paced growth culture, including the ability to react, respond and execute quickly to ad-hoc or real-time opportunities.

  • Ability to work from 23andMe's office in Sunnyvale, CA a minimum of three days per week.
