About the position

The Brand Specialist role at FreshPoint Oahu, Ltd. is a full-time position based in Honolulu, Hawaii, focused on maintaining profitable value-added, wholesale, and PRDC business dedicated to existing Sysco customers. The primary responsibility of this role is to establish and maintain active relationships with the merchandisers at each Sysco operating company (OpCo) to ensure excellent customer service. The Brand Specialist acts as a liaison between Sysco OpCo and the value-added and operations departments within the facility, ensuring smooth communication and operations. In this position, the Brand Specialist will be responsible for keying in orders from each operating company for all value-added and distribution items, communicating all orders to relevant departments in a timely manner, and distributing pick tickets and load sheets to Sysco pullers once orders are complete. The role also involves giving direction to Sysco pullers regarding any changes to orders, cross-dock information, and driver schedules. Additionally, the Brand Specialist will handle reporting requests, maintain working relationships with all departments in OpCo, and facilitate the pricing of all products from the value-added departments. The Brand Specialist will also be expected to communicate any market issues that may arise, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and that operations run smoothly. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills and a good understanding of distribution and warehousing procedures. The Brand Specialist will report directly to the Sysco Champion and will play a crucial role in the success of the operations at FreshPoint Oahu.

Responsibilities

  • Keying in orders from each operating company (OpCo) for all value-added and distribution items.
  • Communicating all orders to each department in time for all cut-off.
  • Distributing pick tickets and load sheets to all Sysco pullers once the orders are in and complete.
  • Giving direction to Sysco pullers for all changes to orders, cross-dock information, and changes in driver schedules.
  • Handling all reporting requests both scheduled and those that come up during each week.
  • Maintaining working relationships with all departments in OpCo to facilitate complete, on-time, accurate loading of all outbound Sysco trucks including cross-dock items.
  • Developing and maintaining great working relationships with all produce managers, produce specialists, sales leadership, and merchandising teams at each Sysco OpCo servicing.
  • Facilitating the pricing of all products from the value-added departments and ensuring it has been sent off to all interested parties each week.
  • Communicating any market issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 year of sales or operational distribution experience preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office.
  • Strong numeric and alphanumeric data entry skills.
  • Detail-oriented with good communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Working knowledge and understanding of distribution and warehousing procedures preferred.
