About the position

The Brand Strategist at GYK plays a crucial role in driving the agency's strategic initiatives, focusing on uncovering insights that inform creative output and integrated marketing plans. This position requires a deep understanding of consumers and product categories, the ability to create compelling consumer personas, and the skill to articulate a brand's differentiators. The strategist will collaborate with various teams to develop impactful campaigns that meet client objectives while fostering a fun and energetic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the strategy and planning team on key strategic deliverables for designated clients, including research reports, brand strategy and positioning, creative briefs, and communications plans.
  • Craft compelling, insight-driven creative briefs that inspire impactful creative work.
  • Synthesize large amounts of data and research into clear recommendations.
  • Conduct research and utilize agency tools to understand consumers and help solve clients' marketing challenges.
  • Collaborate with account, creative, and media teams regularly to drive impactful work for clients.
  • Serve as a bridge between the creative and media teams, making insightful recommendations for channel and tactic usage.
  • Effectively manage workload and deliver strategic thinking across multiple brands and projects simultaneously.
  • Look for opportunities to expand skillset as a brand strategist/planner and as a leader within project and client teams.
  • Work with and guide interns and junior level strategy team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, psychology, sociology, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of professional experience within an advertising or branding agency, preferably with 4+ years in strategy.
  • Ability to conduct primary and secondary research and derive consumer insights.
  • Ability to develop consumer personas and detailed target audiences.
  • Understanding of modern media channels and tactics, particularly the role of social media in driving brand growth.
  • Exceptional writing skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain and meet client deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
