About the position

The Brand Strategy & Category Marketing Manager at Reser's Fine Foods is responsible for driving brand growth in assigned categories and managing both owned and private brands. This role involves developing short and long-term marketing strategies, executing annual marketing plans, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure brand relevance and profitability. The manager will lead product development initiatives, analyze market trends, and synthesize consumer insights to enhance brand performance.

Responsibilities

  • Overall accountability for category and brand volume and share objectives.
  • Collaborates and leads cross-functionally to ensure brand relevance and profitable growth.
  • Leads the development of brand positioning in collaboration with the Director of Brand Strategy.
  • Develops long-term marketing strategies based on consumer insights and competitive landscape analysis.
  • Creates annual marketing plans that align with brand positions and contribute to sales and margin objectives.
  • Coordinates with the Associate Product Manager on new product development from ideation to launch.
  • Conducts regular analyses of brands, key initiatives, competition, and consumer trends to adjust plans accordingly.
  • Leads insight gathering research to enhance brand competitive position.
  • Maintains understanding of internal brand metrics and contributes to sales projections and financial planning.
  • Manages product portfolio including SKU rationalization and margin optimization.
  • Evaluates market potential for new product launches and improvements.
  • Develops strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards.
  • Communicates with Sales and Customer Marketing to ensure proper implementation of marketing programs.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and development to team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required; MBA is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Brand Marketing.
  • Experience in new product development and launch.
  • Knowledge of Nielsen or Circana is required.
  • Experience in the consumer packaged goods industry is preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to process complex data and make clear business recommendations.
  • Leadership ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Skills in developing consumer insights and using research for marketing strategies.
  • Creative and conceptual thinking ability to identify new opportunities and solve complex problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and virtual meeting tools.
