About the position

The Brand Strategy & Category Marketing Manager at Reser's Fine Foods is responsible for driving brand growth across assigned categories and brands. This role involves developing and executing marketing strategies and plans that align with corporate goals, ensuring brand relevance, and leading cross-functional collaboration to support product development and market initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Overall accountability for category and brand volume and share objectives.
  • Collaborates and leads cross-functionally to ensure the brands remain relevant to consumers and drive profitable corporate growth.
  • Leads the development of brand positioning utilizing consumer insights and competitive landscape analysis.
  • Develops annual marketing plans that contribute to topline sales, margin, and brand health objectives.
  • Coordinates with Associate Product Manager on new product development from ideation to launch.
  • Identifies and recommends business-building initiatives that align with company objectives.
  • Conducts regular analyses of brands, key initiatives, competition, and consumer insights to enhance performance.
  • Leads insight gathering research to evolve the brand's competitive position.
  • Maintains understanding of internal brand metrics and contributes to sales projections.
  • Manages product portfolio including SKU rationalization and margin optimization.
  • Analyzes market potential for new opportunities and develops competitive concepts.
  • Implements strategies to maximize profitability of assigned products/categories.
  • Communicates with Sales and Customer Marketing teams to ensure proper implementation of marketing programs.
  • Attends sales calls as needed and develops insights for presentations.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and development to team members.
  • Responsible for hiring decisions and performance management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Brand Marketing.
  • New product development and launch experience required.
  • Nielsen or Circana experience required.
  • Experience in the consumer packaged goods industry preferred.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Leadership ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Skills in developing consumer insights and marketing strategies.
  • Creative and conceptual thinking ability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and virtual meeting tools.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
