About the position

The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor at UFC Gym is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and coaching to members. This role involves conducting private and small group training sessions, ensuring a positive member experience, and contributing to revenue-generating activities. The instructor must embody the UFC Gym philosophy of 'Train Different' and maintain a safe and organized training environment.

Responsibilities

  • Sell and conduct private and small group training with members.
  • Assist members and encourage involvement in private training.
  • Ensure accurate administration of client programs, measurement tracking, and workout programs.
  • Arrive on time, prepared, and attentive for training appointments.
  • Assist in all revenue-generating activities, including complimentary workouts, seminars, and workshops.
  • Focus on changing lives through service, science, and sales.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for UFC Gym and its philosophy.
  • Conduct safe and effective private MMA training sessions.
  • Maintain organization and neat presentation of the fitness floor and training spaces.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of private training techniques from assessment to program design.
  • Working knowledge of the dotFIT program and software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to generate and maintain a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Ability to respond professionally to requests and inquiries from guests, members, and staff.
  • Understanding of oral and written instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Experience operating office equipment such as computers, calculators, fax, and photocopiers.
  • Computer proficiency with basic skills in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work, set up, and execute successful weekends.
  • Minimum of Purple belt or higher BJJ Belt Certificate.
  • BJJ lineage verification.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Current DotFIT certification (preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of related teaching experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Grappling tournament record (preferred)
