About the position
Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace is seeking an experienced full-time Bread Baker for their Port Jefferson location. The role involves crafting exceptional gourmet bread products while ensuring a high level of customer service. The Bread Baker will be responsible for preparing various baked goods and maintaining quality standards in line with the company's commitment to fresh and high-quality ingredients.
Responsibilities
- Prepares bread, rolls, muffins, and biscuits according to company recipes
- Checks production schedule to define variety and quantity of goods to bake
- Measures ingredients using measuring cups and spoons
- Mixes ingredients to form dough or batter by hand or using electric mixers
- Cuts dough into uniform portions with knife or divider, molds dough into loaves or desired shapes
- Adjusts drafts or thermostatic controls to regulate oven temperature
- Performs other duties and functions as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience as a Bread Maker or pizza maker
- Detailed knowledge of how bread is made, including ingredients and baking temperatures
- Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language
- Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift
