About the position

The Breakfast Attendant / On-Call Barista at Hotel Interurban is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, providing excellent guest service, and maintaining cleanliness in assigned areas. This role is crucial in creating exceptional experiences for guests while ensuring efficient operations in the food service environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.
• Greet, thank, and deliver excellent guest service.
• Describe menu options and be knowledgeable about beverage products to make appropriate recommendations to guests.
• Handle money, make change, and process credit card transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas and equipment.
• Follow all opening and closing procedures.
• Restock supplies and food items promptly and respond to guest inquiries and requests.
• Answer and direct telephone calls to appropriate personnel.
• Create various signage for functions and parking stickers as necessary.
• Maintain coat check services.

Requirements

• Previous barista experience in a similar environment strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in food service and/or customer service preferred.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to clearly and effectively communicate.
• Basic math skills required for accurate money handling.
• Necessary State Food Handler's License(s).
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
