About the position

The Part Time Breakfast Attendant at Holiday Inn Express Matthews, NC is responsible for preparing and delivering a high standard of fresh food during busy breakfast service. This role requires prior experience in food service, a Serve Safe certification, and the ability to manage various food preparation tasks while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
  • Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Prepare and cook food according to presentation standards and checklists.
  • Prepare cold foods and operate ovens, stoves, and microwaves.
  • Monitor food quality while preparing food.
  • Set up and break down work station for breakfast service.
  • Serve food in proper portions onto appropriate receptacles.
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
  • Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25-50 pounds without assistance.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Breakfast Attendant or cook (1 year required).
  • Experience in food handling (1 year required).
  • Ability to communicate with the public, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner.
  • Skilled in the use of kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Nice-to-haves
