About the position

The Breakfast Server position at the DoubleTree by Hilton Phoenix/Mesa is a full-time role that plays a crucial part in creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for guests during the morning hours. As a Breakfast Server, you will be responsible for setting the tone for our guests' day by providing exceptional customer service that is friendly, courteous, and hospitable. Your role will involve a variety of tasks, including seating guests, taking orders, and using the Point of Sale (P.O.S.) system to communicate orders to the kitchen. You will also be responsible for delivering orders to guests and ensuring that their dining experience is memorable and enjoyable. The position requires a vibrant, guest-oriented individual who can handle the fast-paced environment of a hotel breakfast service while maintaining a positive attitude and attention to detail. In this role, you will work closely with a dedicated team of professionals who are committed to delivering the best experience for our guests. You will be expected to remember guests' preferences, such as how they like their coffee or eggs, and to provide both buffet and à la carte service to meet individual needs. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, have experience in a hotel or related field, and be able to handle stressful situations with professionalism. Additionally, you will need to obtain a Food Handlers card and meet the legal age requirements to serve alcoholic beverages. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in guest services or hotel environment preferred.
  • Food Handler Certification required.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
  • Understanding of hotel products and guest services.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and team members.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service standards.
  • Ability to perform basic numerical operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of responsible serving courses such as TIPs.
