Breast Ultrasound Technologist

About the position

The Breast Ultrasound Technologist at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic exams and routine invasive procedures. This role involves providing patient care across all age groups, demonstrating knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology, and effectively communicating with staff and radiologists.

Responsibilities

• Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures.
• Provides patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology.
• Provides patient care to all age groups including neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.
• Communicates effectively with staff and radiologists.

Requirements

• Graduate of an AMA approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or equivalent experience according to Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
• Must become registered by the ARDMS within 6 months of employment.
• BLS certified.

Nice-to-haves

• One (1) year of experience is preferred.
• Registered ARDMS and/or RVS/RVT (Registered Vascular Specialist) is desired.
