About the position

The Brew Pub Cook at The Strat in Las Vegas is responsible for planning, preparing, and providing quality service in all areas of food production, including menu items and specials. This role emphasizes maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in work areas while delivering exceptional guest service in a vibrant and fast-paced environment. The position offers an opportunity to be part of an exciting new dining concept at a renowned location on The Strip.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure work station is properly prepared for dining service
  • Prepare all sauces for menu items
  • Fabricate meat, fish, and fowl for menu items
  • Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides
  • Ensure dishes are appropriately prepared in a timely manner
  • Inform Room Chef of any shortages before the item runs out
  • Check production schedule and pars
  • Transport supplies from the storeroom and stock in designated areas
  • Perform prep work and production of items needed for the day
  • Disinfect and sanitize cutting boards and worktables
  • Transport used dishware to the proper washing station
  • Break down work station and complete closing duties according to department standards
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
  • Ensure all food is served within health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company's guest service culture standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • At least six months previous cooking experience in a full service, restaurant, tavern or bar environment
  • Previous experience working all stations of a line
  • Experience providing high-touch guest service expected in fun, high-energy environment
  • Must be team-oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain calm in a very high-paced, busy environment
  • Previous experience exercising sound judgment when dealing with difficult situations
  • Proven experience providing high level of guest service
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations quickly
  • At least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
  • Verify right to work in the United States
