About the position

The Maintenance Supervisor at The Boston Beer Company will lead and direct the packaging maintenance department in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role is responsible for overseeing the repair, maintenance, improvement, and installation of machines and equipment in packaging operations, ensuring operational efficiency and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Supervises teams responsible for all aspects of Brewery maintenance, including high-speed packaging equipment and utilities.
• Drives craft efficiency and effectiveness by directing maintenance team activities and enabling work through communication and coordination.
• Ensures quality of work and prioritization by being present on the floor.
• Utilizes root cause problem solving to eliminate downtime and repeat breakdown occurrences.
• Builds a culture of reliability and a 'fix it right the first time' mentality within the team.
• Supports the development and continuous improvement of the team's skillsets through training and coaching.
• Leads the hiring process for filling team headcount gaps based on skills requirements and Brewery goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Manufacturing, or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years of experience in maintenance supervision.
• Experience with a computer-based preventative maintenance program.
• Working knowledge of computer systems and data processing (i.e., M.S. Office).
• Familiarity with high volume automated packaging equipment.
• Knowledge of machine shop, welding fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical principles.

Nice-to-haves

• Food/Beverage industry experience preferred.
• PLC knowledge and experience are a plus.
• Experience implementing Lean / 6S projects in a high-speed production environment.
