About The Position

The Bridge Design Co-op position at Burgess & Niple offers an opportunity for current students pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering to gain hands-on experience in bridge design and rehabilitation projects. This role involves collaboration with experienced engineers and detailers, providing a platform to develop technical skills and contribute to transportation design projects for local and state clients.

Requirements

• Current student in good academic standing pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Software experience with Microsoft Excel and Word; AutoCAD or MicroStation experience is a plus.
• Strong interest in structural engineering.
• Strong technical skills with a desire to learn and develop structural/bridge engineering skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with experienced bridge engineers and detailers on transportation design projects.
• Gain experience with bridge design and rehabilitation projects for local and state transportation clients.
• Be involved in bridge design calculations, bridge load rating calculations, plan preparation, and report preparation.
• Develop design sketches with MicroStation and gain experience with AASHTO BrR.
