About the position

The Bridge Designer I position at PRIME AE Group involves performing various activities related to bridge engineering, including the design and analysis of new and existing bridges. Responsibilities

• Work with standard bridge engineering/design procedures.
• Develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software.
• Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Perform design calculations, estimates, and specifications.
• Develop plan and details/layouts using CAD, quantity take offs, and technical report writing.
• Perform design and analysis of new and existing bridges, including rehabilitation design for transportation projects.
• Participate in bridge condition inspections and inspection report preparation.
• Perform bridge load ratings.
• Perform construction engineering demo/erections calculations, temporary shoring, and falsework.
• Review shop drawings.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering, or related field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT).
• 0-3 years' experience preferred in bridge design projects.
• Experience with PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike projects preferred.
• Experience with PennDOT Design programs preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Microstation preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
