About the position
The Bridge Designer position at Mead & Hunt involves drafting and designing transportation bridge plans, preparing reports and specifications, and assisting with quality assurance and quality control tasks. This role is integral to the Transportation team and requires a strong background in civil engineering, particularly in bridge design.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and designing transportation bridge plans using various software programs
- Preparing and modifying reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and designs
- Assisting QA/QC tasks
- Developing construction cost estimates
- Travel as required for the position
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
- At least two years of relevant work experience
- Experience with preparing construction plans for bridges using MicroStation software
- Knowledge of structure layout and geometry
- Experience with WVDOH including Structural Directives and Standard Specifications
- Experience with QA/QC for bridge projects
- Passed the FE exam and ability to obtain a WV PE as soon as practical
