About the position
Mead & Hunt is seeking a highly motivated Bridge Designer to join their Transportation team in Charleston, WV. This role involves drafting and designing transportation bridge plans, preparing reports and specifications, and assisting with quality assurance tasks. Responsibilities
- Drafting and designing transportation bridge plans using various software programs
- Preparing and modifying reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and designs
- Assisting QA/QC tasks
- Developing construction cost estimates
- Travel as required for the position
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
- At least two years of relevant work experience
- Experience preparing construction plans for bridges using MicroStation software
- Knowledge of structure layout and geometry
- Experience with WVDOH including Structural Directives and Standard Specifications
- Experience with QA/QC for bridge projects
- Passed the FE exam and ability to obtain a WV PE as soon as practical
