About The Position

The Bridge EIT/Coordinator position at HDR Engineering Inc. involves supporting bridge projects across Minnesota and Wisconsin, with opportunities to work on various bridge designs and inspections. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate preferred; candidates without EIT will be placed in a Design Coordinator role with expectations to obtain EIT for career progression.
• Experience in bridge/structural design.
• Familiarity with engineering software packages such as LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.
• Strong understanding and hands-on use of computers for structural layout and design.
• Good communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
• Familiarity with Bentley OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3D.
• Experience with MathCAD and AutoCAD.
• Experience with LARSA and Prestress Concrete Design.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bridge designs following MnDOT and/or WisDOT processes.
• Work on projects including bridge, box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
• Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures and develop structural details using specialized software.
• Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Participate in bridge inspections and perform structural load rating calculations.
• Perform other duties as needed.
