About the position

The Structural Engineer position at KPFF in Downtown Los Angeles is designed for a highly motivated individual passionate about engineering excellence. Responsibilities

  • Work on structural design for infrastructure projects including bridges and waterfront infrastructure.
  • Engage in planning, design, permitting, and construction phases of projects.
  • Collaborate with clients and project team members to ensure project success.
  • Participate in educational programs and technical training to enhance skills.
  • Contribute to a culture of teamwork and social engagement within the organization.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis is required.
  • M.S. in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis is preferred.
  • EIT certification is required.
  • At least two years of full-time experience as a structural engineer or equivalent is required.
  • Experience with concrete, steel, and timber design is necessary.
  • Familiarity with pre-stressed concrete and seismic design is preferred.
  • Ability to work dynamically with clients and project team members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with non-linear analysis is a plus.
  • Previous coursework in pre-stressed concrete and seismic design is beneficial.
