About the position
Garver USA is seeking a Bridge Engineer with 5-10 years of experience to join their Transportation Design Center in Huntsville, AL. This role involves providing technical expertise in the design and analysis of bridge and structural projects, contributing to the successful delivery of sound solutions and quality designs. Responsibilities
- Perform design and load rating of simple and/or continuous span prestressed bridges
- Design and load rating of simple and/or continuous span steel bridges
- Design of retaining wall and sign support structures
- Conduct bridge repair/rehabilitation design
- Assist in detailing for plan production, quantity calculation, report preparation, and site inspection
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET program
- 5 - 10 years of experience
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE)
- Strong communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office
- Design and detailing experience with prestressed concrete, reinforced concrete, and structural steel
- Experience with MicroStation, structural analysis and design software
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program with structural emphasis
- Familiarity with the American Association of Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Bridge Design Specifications
- Experience in planning and design for bridges
