The Bridge Foreman position at Sanford Contractors requires a team member with a minimum of 3 years of experience in bridge construction. Responsibilities

  • Be punctual, dependable, and professional at all times
  • Work with cost-effectiveness, profitability, and safety in mind
  • Lead by example and advocate for safety
  • Recognize and correct hazards immediately
  • Calculate concrete, stone, and asphalt needs using basic arithmetic skills
  • Plan the anticipated work of the crew one day in advance
  • Notify the superintendent of equipment and material needs for the next week
  • Identify tasks and assign team members accordingly
  • Train team members who show potential and communicate this to the superintendent
  • Request assistance for layout work beyond comfort level
  • Collaborate with the owner's representative and site inspectors
  • Communicate time away from work with sufficient notice to team members
  • Willingness to work hours as required

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a bridge foreman
  • Working knowledge of bridge construction
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively
  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience in bridge construction

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with NCDOT specifications
  • General understanding of construction surveying
