About the position

The Bridge Services Supervisor 9 (Toll Booth Supervisor) at the Blue Water Bridge is responsible for overseeing the operations of toll collection and revenue accounting at a state-owned bridge. This role involves coordinating and directing the work of subordinate personnel, making final determinations on toll classifications, and resolving customer complaints and public inquiries. The position operates within a 24/7 environment, requiring flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct the work of subordinate personnel at the toll booth.
  • Ensure compliance with toll collection and revenue accounting policies and procedures.
  • Make final determinations on toll classifications.
  • Resolve customer complaints and public inquiries effectively.
  • Supervise the daily operations of the toll booth, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Four years of experience equivalent to a Bridge Services Representative, including three years as a Bridge Services Representative E7 or two years as a Bridge Services Representative 8.
  • Completion of 30 semester credits in relevant fields such as accounting, business, finance, management, mathematics, public administration, or statistics may substitute for some experience.
  • Two years of managerial/supervisory experience or four years of experience focused on processing financial transactions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Supervisory experience with union staff members.
  • Customer service experience, particularly face-to-face interactions.
