About the position

The Bridge Structural Engineer/Project Manager will be responsible for the structural design and production of plans for bridges and other related infrastructure projects, including transportation and drainage systems. This role requires a strong leader who can direct and train a team of structural design professionals, ensuring that all design computations and plan components undergo rigorous quality control checks. The successful candidate will also play a key role in pursuing complex, multi-discipline infrastructure projects, leveraging their analytical skills and effective communication abilities to foster a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of organization and the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and plans production for bridges and related infrastructure projects.
• Direct and train structural design team members to enhance their skills and performance.
• Perform quality control checks on design computations and plan components to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Assist in the pursuit of complex multi-discipline infrastructure projects, contributing to proposal development and project planning.
• Manage the preliminary and final design phases of complex bridge structures, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
• Florida PE licensure is mandatory.
• At least eight years of progressive bridge design experience, particularly with projects for the Florida Department of Transportation or other Florida agencies.
• Practical experience leading and managing the design of complex bridge structures, including concrete or steel superstructures.
• Familiarity with design software such as Leap Bridge Concrete (Conspan & RC-Pier), MDX, FB-MultiPier, GT STRUDL, and MicroStation is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is a plus.
• Experience with multi-discipline infrastructure projects is advantageous.
