About the position

The position of Broadcast Engineer is an essential part of the services the Studio-B&H offers the corporate and professional communities. The goal is to assist customers with a superior level of service to build long lasting professional relationships. The position primarily requires an excellent level of knowledge of digital cinema as well as multi-camera broadcast-style production and related workflows. The position will also demand a well-rounded knowledge of other fields such as computer and workstation technology, media and entertainment software applications for color grading, design and VFX, VR/AR and immersive technologies as well as IP transport protocols and streaming technology. This is a sales position and it requires professionalism, customer engagement skills, courtesy, impeccable salesmanship as well as above average verbal and written communication skills. Overall performance will be critically evaluated during employee reviews. The Production Sales Consultant will report directly to the Studio-B&H Managing Director.

Responsibilities

  • Engage and assist professional customers looking to set up any type of production environment.
  • Work with the existing team to devise innovative and technologically sound solutions for B&H corporate customer base.
  • Join the team to handle the flow of incoming projects from direct customers and other B&H Org Sales departments.
  • Prepare comprehensive system quotes for assigned projects and follow through until project completion through delivery and installation when applicable.
  • Participate in buildup and breakdown of certain technology showcases for trade shows, events, and professional conferences.
  • Relatively frequent traveling may be required.

Requirements

  • Intimate knowledge of production and post-production technology and related digital workflows.
  • Great knowledge of camera systems from sensor technology and color science all the way to hands-on operations.
  • Excellent knowledge of motion-based optics.
  • Excellent knowledge of SMPTE industry standards is a must.
  • Knowledge of IP transport protocols such as TCP/IP, SRT, RTMP, NDI, etc. is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of system interconnectivity via SDI routing and signal distribution.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and data transfer specifications is preferred.
  • Excellent ability to offer on-site and remote troubleshooting for system set-up and configuration.
  • Must be proficient with all modern communications channels.
  • Minimum of 5 to 6 years of industry experience in a related field.
  • Must be or become extremely familiar with the B&H UNIX Sales Platform as well as all B&H sales procedures.
