About the position

The Broadcast Seasonal Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Broadcast department of the Detroit Tigers by assisting with various broadcast needs. This position involves collaboration with broadcasting partners and internal business operations to enhance the visibility and impact of the team's broadcasts.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Manager, Broadcasting to build and maintain strong relationships with Detroit Tigers partners (radio and television) at the local and national level.
  • Work alongside Manager, Broadcasting to identify key business initiatives and ensure they are showcased on broadcasts in high-impact ways.
  • Build and maintain relationships with production staff from Bally Sports Detroit and Audacy, facilitating dialogue to support their broadcasts.
  • Coordinate game-day interviews and in-game promo reads for Detroit Tigers radio broadcasts, ensuring broadcasters have necessary promotional and baseball information.
  • Respond to and fulfill broadcast media requests throughout the season.
  • Play a role in planning and executing the affiliate engagement strategy with over 50 radio affiliates to support larger business initiatives.
  • Attend a significant portion of Detroit Tigers home games to maintain relationships with broadcasters and media.

Requirements

  • Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience in broadcasting and a deep knowledge of baseball are preferred.
  • Must be at least a college senior or recent graduate (within two years) and available full-time (at least 40 hours per week) beginning in March 2023.
  • Elite ability to collaborate and build relationships with colleagues and broadcast partners.
  • High levels of communication (verbal and written), organizational, and people/culture skills.
