About the position

The Broadcast Specialist position within the Network Operations Center (NOC) at YouTube OTT is a critical role that involves managing the operations for acquiring live and linear TV signals for YouTube's products, including YouTube TV, Sports, and A La Carte. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of broadcast operations, as it operates 24/7 and 365 days a year. The successful candidate will work closely with the NOC Lead to enhance and innovate the NOC operations, ensuring that the systems are running efficiently and effectively. The role also involves coordinating with vendors, overseeing a team of more than 50 individuals, and ensuring that all signal chains are tested and commissioned properly before launch. In addition to operational management, the Broadcast Specialist will be responsible for reporting metrics and performance to identify areas of opportunity for improvement. This includes analyzing data to optimize processes and enhance the overall performance of the NOC. The position requires strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to business stakeholders and to influence cross-functional teams within a matrixed environment. Responsibilities

  • Manage the Network Operations Center (NOC) Operations for acquiring live and linear TV signals for YouTube's products like YouTube TV, Sports, and A La Carte.
  • Work in close partnership with the NOC Lead to run, improve, and innovate the NOC Operations.
  • Manage vendor engagement involving a team of over 50 individuals.
  • Report metrics and performance to identify areas of opportunity for improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience running a broadcast operation 24/7 and 365 days a year.
  • Experience reporting metrics and performance to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, testing and commissioning systems, and launching new signal chains.
